Department of Formative Art

The Department of Formative Art runs a track system of Korean art, Western art, sculpture/plastic art, and art theories in order to generate global professional artists with convergence and creativity needed by the present society. The curriculum of first and second years is composed of foundational courses to cultivate the essential refinement and creativity of formative arts, based on which students can pursue a professional education program to choose from different tracks in their third and fourth years for various career options. Also, the media art cross-listed major, cultural content cross-listed major, and content production practicum cross-listed major, and the curriculum for level 2 certificate of Culture and Art Educator are offered in the Department of Formative Art.

This allows students to choose from various options that meet their career goals and aptitude and open a new vision for their own creative art according to each of their own talents, interests, and inclinations.

Students that graduated from the Department of Formative Art are actively pursuing their careers in the Korean and global arts scenes as painters, sculptors, and installation artists. Students can enter various fields based on their competencies such as becoming curators or exhibition planners of an art museum or gallery, art educators and art critics, illustrators, game illustrators, etc.

Department of Living Art

This Department provides the fundamental foundation for students to become the experts of related fields by converging arts education and design education.

Its curriculum is run flexibly by reflecting the academic trends and industry’s demands, and offers various industry-academy cooperation programs other than the regular curriculum such as industry-academy cooperation projects, short and long-term field internships, etc. Also, to nurture young human resources in arts and design, students have actively participated in top overseas design fairs (London Designers Block, Cosmit Milano 2018 – an international furniture exhibition, Maison & Objet Paris), making significant achievements.

The educational objective of this Department is to nurture global leaders of arts and design with appropriate human character and competencies.
